چکیده

Despite long history of research and rich literature devoted to optimization problems, relatively few works concerning optimal control for infinite dimensional systems can be found. Moreover, they mostly present approaches suitable for PDE models. This paper is concerned with optimal control problem for certain class of infinite dimensional systems as well as some dynamical properties of such systems. Models based on infinite number of state equations may be applied to a variety of systems. They may describe e.g. RC ladders, which are approximation of long transmission lines, model of drug resistance evolution caused by gene amplification or certain queuing systems (e.g. M/M/1 [2]). This paper presents analysis of bilinear models with infinite dimensional, tridiagonal system matrix, represented by equation ) ( )) ( ( ) ( ) ( t u t x B t Ax t x + = & , (1) where

Concepts and Application of Three Dimensional Infinite Elements to Soil Structure-Interaction Problems

This study is concerned with the formulation of three dimensional mapped infinite elements with 1/r and 1/ decay types. These infinite elements are coupled with conventional finite elements and their application to some problems of soil structure interaction are discussed. The effeciency of the coupled finite-infinite elements formulation with respect to computational effort, data preparation a...

Numerical Modeling of Railway Track Supporting System using Finite-Infinite and Thin Layer Elements

The present contribution deals with the numerical modeling of railway track-supporting systems-using coupled finite-infinite elements-to represent the near and distant field stress distribution, and also employing a thin layer interface element to account for the interfacial behavior between sleepers and ballast. To simulate the relative debonding, slipping and crushing at the contact area betw...

The standard H∞-Suboptimal Control Problem for LTI Infinite Dimensional Systems

In this paper we provide sufficient conditions for the solvability of the standard H∞suboptimal control problem for linear, time invariant, infinite-dimensional systems with finite-dimensional input and output spaces. The sufficient conditions are formulated in terms of the existence of two J-lossless factorizations. For the Wiener algebra class of the transfer functions an algorithm for solvin...

Survey an Operator Theoretic Approach to Robust Control of Infinite Dimensional Systems

The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the skew Toeplitz approach to H∞ control of a class of infinite dimensional systems. Numerical steps involved in the computations of optimal and suboptimal controllers are demonstrated with different examples, including flexible beam models and systems with time delays.

Application of the Genetic Algorithm to Calculate the Interaction Parameters for Multiphase and Multicomponent Systems

A method based on the Genetic Algorithm (GA) was developed to study the phase behavior of multicomponent and multiphase systems. Upon application of the GA to the thermodynamic models which are commonly used to study the VLE, VLLE and LLE phase equilibria, the physically meaningful values for the Binary Interaction Parameters (BIP) of the models were obtained. Using the method proposed in t...
